Black Eye Cod Fishing

A black eye with pride!

Who says fishing isn’t a sport! During a winter doc trip I was reeling in what seemed to be a HUGE cod, at least in the 50-60 pound range. Half way up with the fish still in about 100 feet of water, my 60 pound test braided line snapped and the bent rod snapped back and whacked me in the face! My eye swelled up and turned black instantly…While it hurt and I felt like an idiot, I wore that black eye with pride!
